My Story
Shannon Chapman is a business transactions attorney focused on outside general counsel, technology, as well as commercial and residential real estate matters. Her clients’ needs range from simple-to-complex, may involve multiple jurisdictions, and often require outside-the-box, highly customized solutions. Her dynamic 22-year background in law, politics, and global marketing have exceptionally placed her in a position to fulfill her client’s assorted needs.
A fifth-generation Texan, Shannon was raised in Lubbock and Austin. She began her professional career serving as a Legislative Assistant for Members of Congress in Washington, D.C. While there, she worked on legislative initiatives and projects that directly benefited the State of Texas, and her “hometowns”. Her work included the funding of various science and emerging technology projects, developing strategic collaborations between public and private entities, and helping to return the NASA Shuttle Program to human spaceflight after the Columbia shuttle disaster. Upon leaving D.C., Shannon worked for a Fortune 500 company in the technology industry, learning firsthand the rapid pace of technological growth, and the challenges corporations face in balancing economic health with the satisfaction of its workforce.
Shannon’s legal career has included working as a partner in the Law Office of Justin Bancroft Lea, a multijurisdictional general litigation and transactional firm in northern New Mexico; advising clients across Texas on business law and contract-related matters; and providing legal policy advice to local government entities in Louisiana. She is also a co-founder and investor of Hayworth Athletic, a hand-stitched soccer ball company based in Austin, Texas, and Mongui, Colombia.
Her experiences have put her in a position to resonate both with the needs of local and global-based clientele. She loves crafting holistic solutions that help bring client’s ideas to life, mitigate risks, and maximize growth potential. Her clients also benefit from the wealth of experience and innovation that the entire Fulton Jeang team provides.
On a personal note, Shannon has a passion for overlanding, having circumnavigated the globe in a custom-built 1996 FZJ80 Toyota Land Cruiser, and driving across the U.S., Mexico, Southeast Asia, central and western China, the ‘Stans, Russia, Eurasia, Northern Africa, and Europe. Nicknamed the “Landship”, the truck propelled her through profound life experiences, creating extraordinary stories along the way.
She is a graduate of Tulane School of Law in New Orleans, LA and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech and Human Behavioral Communications from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX. Shannon is licensed in Texas, New Mexico, and Louisiana.
