Fulton Jeang, PLLC (FJ) is a Texas-based, full-service business law firm. Its attorneys operate virtually and are located throughout Texas, in all major Texas metropolitan areas. Although FJ’s website is accessible worldwide, it does not specifically direct marketing efforts to foreign countries to offer services to potential clients outside the United States.

As a small business under the applicable U.S. Small Business Administration size standards for legal services (NAICS 541110), FJ is generally exempt from the full compliance requirements of the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, Tex. Bus. & Comm. Code Ch. 541 ("TDPSA"). FJ does not sell personal data. This Privacy Policy is provided as a matter of transparency and good data governance.

FJ is committed to the protection of your privacy and will treat all of the information you provide with the utmost respect. FJ works diligently to ensure that it has taken all appropriate administrative and technical measures to prevent the unauthorized or unlawful use of your personally identifiable information, and to prevent any accidental loss or destruction of, or damage to, such information. For purposes of this Privacy Policy, "unaffiliated third parties" means persons or entities that are not members, attorneys, contractors, or service providers of or to FJ acting within the scope of their engagement with FJ. The Firm will not sell or disclose personally identifiable information about you to unaffiliated third parties except in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Information FJ Collects

  • Website - By visiting the FJ website, certain information is collected through the use of cookies. These cookies are used by third parties to provide essential functions on the FJ website. FJ does not use cookies to collect personal data about identified or identifiable individuals.

  • Law Firm Operations – FJ may collect personal information from you or your employees as part of FJ’s representation of you. This information includes names, telephone numbers, email addresses, physical addresses, and banking information. For specific matters, to enable FJ's representation of you, additional personal information may need to be collected.

  • Third parties directly involved in FJ's legal representation or business operations, such as affiliates, business partners, credit reporting agencies, and client due diligence providers. FJ does not collect personal information from advertising networks or unrelated third-party data brokers.

  • Third parties with your consent (such as your bank for billing purposes)

  • FJ maintains a presence on certain third-party social media platforms, including LinkedIn. FJ does not collect personal information through its social media presence. Individuals who visit or interact with FJ's social media pages should consult the applicable platform's own privacy policy to understand how their personal data may be collected and used by that platform.

 

Why FJ Collects the Information

  • Website Cookies – FJ collects website cookies to help ensure the:

    1. proper operation of the FJ website, and

    2. security, integrity, and fraud prevention on the FJ website and tools.

  • Professional Services – FJ collects personal information necessary for performing services on behalf of the client, including maintaining or servicing accounts, providing client service, verifying client information, processing payments, providing analytic services, or providing similar services on behalf of FJ;

  • Marketing – FJ may use contact information to send updates about FJ's legal services to existing and former clients.

  • Legal/Regulatory Obligations - FJ may disclose any information that it obtains through the FJ website or law firm operations to appropriate governmental or regulatory authorities, if required by law or any governmental agency.

 

Transfers of Information

From time to time, FJ may disclose information about you to carefully selected service providers that FJ may engage to host FJ’s website or to provide other services. FJ will require all such service providers to use the information solely to provide the specified services and otherwise to comply with the requirements of this Privacy Policy. Data Retention

FJ retains personal information only for as long as is necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected and as required by applicable law. When personal information is no longer needed, FJ takes reasonable steps to ensure that it is securely deleted, destroyed, or anonymized.

Information Sent by Email is Not Secure

Any information sent to FJ by email is not transmitted over a fully secured connection. Any information you send to FJ via email is transmitted at your own risk.

Sending information does not form an Attorney–Client Relationship

Transmission of information from this website does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and the firm, nor is it intended to do so. The transmission of the website, in part or in whole, and/or any communication with us via Internet e-mail does not constitute or create an attorney-client relationship between us and any recipients.

 

Data Security and Breach Notification

In the event of a breach of security involving personal information, FJ will notify affected individuals as required by applicable law, including Tex. Bus. & Comm. Code § 521.053. Where a breach involves the sensitive personal information of 250 or more Texas residents, FJ will also notify the Texas Attorney General as soon as practicable and not later than 30 days after the date on which FJ determines the breach occurred. FJ maintains administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, or loss.
