My Story
Keiko’s practices focuses on developing and utilizing patent portfolios in a broad range of technologies, including ophthalmological surgical systems, medical devices, telecommunications, electro-optical systems, wireless devices, software, Internet services, and semiconductors.
In her 12 years at Baker Botts, Keiko gained extensive experience in preparing and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications. While at Alcon Labs, Keiko developed and managed a laser surgery patent portfolio, performed freedom-to-operate analyses, evaluated third parties as business opportunities, and drafted agreements.
In graduate school, Keiko researched the history and philosophy of spacetime in general relativity theories. She did not like studying just one subject, so she became a patent attorney so she could learn about a variety of technologies. Keiko is quite happy with this decision!
In her free time, Keiko and her dogs take classes in agility, nose work, and rally obedience. Keiko also plays bass guitar for a local ukulele ensemble.
