My Story

Shereen El Domeiri is an experienced attorney and a certified privacy professional focusing on data protection and privacy, children’s privacy, compliance, gaming, technology, and business law. She combines her strong interpersonal skills and broad legal experience with creative and practical problem-solving to assist business clients achieve their goals.

She has served as in-house counsel and fractional general counsel for domestic and international companies, where she assisted various business lines and corporate service departments, including IT, Human Resources, Internal Audit, Accounting, Operations, and Compliance. She also has a record of public service and was a Municipal Judge and Assistant City Attorney for the City of Dallas and a staff attorney for the Federal Trade Commission. Currently, Shereen serves as an Associate Hearing Officer for the City of Dallas Civil Adjudication Court.

Her legal career began before law school where she worked at two Houston law firms as a legal assistant and dreamt of becoming an international law attorney. During law school, she took several international law classes and participated in mock international arbitration and litigation competitions. Her career took off in Dallas beginning at a small firm where she quickly learned how to build strong client relationships and advocacy skills, which paved the way for her later roles as counsel for the government and domestic and international companies. Over her career, she was fortunate to have many opportunities to expand her legal knowledge and skills and gained invaluable experience in a multitude of practice areas including bankruptcy, civil and criminal litigation, data protection and privacy, incident response, employment, mergers and acquisitions, corporate compliance, and technology. While working as in-house counsel, she had the opportunity to realize her dream of practicing international law by leading the post-acquisition integration of a Brazilian subsidiary. She credits her multicultural heritage as the secret sauce that allowed her to successfully win the trust of her new Brazilian colleagues while going through a very thorough internal FCPA inquiry.

Shereen is active in many professional and community associations. Currently, she serves on the board of the Dallas Bar Association’s Science and Technology Section and Solo & Small Firm Section and is a mentor for young lawyers and law students in Dallas. She is also a member of the Dallas Summit and serves on the board of several PTAs in her community, with a focus on Arts in Education. Additionally, she is the Dallas Chapter Chair for the Esports Trade Association.

Shereen earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Bryn Mawr College and wrote a thesis entitled “The Philosophical Implications of Artificial Intelligence.” She received her Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, where she served as the managing editor for The International Law Review.

On a personal note, Shereen has an amazing husband and three wonderful children with interests in music, fine arts, gaming, theatre, engineering, and manufacturing. Her kid’s interests and experiences led her to explore the world of Esports and to serve clients in gaming and ed tech. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching movies, cooking, baking, and enjoying food from all over the world. She also takes Arabic lessons to improve her proficiency to better communicate with her family in Egypt. For her Irish side, she makes a mean Irish soda bread and will happily accept recommendations for Gaelic language lessons.
