My Story

Todd is originally from the Dallas area and attended SMU undergrad and the University of Tulsa College of Law.  Upon graduation, he practiced with Andrews Kurth LLP (now Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP) and Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP (now Foley & Lardner LLP) where he became a partner at the firm in the corporate reorganization and civil trial sections.  He was recruited from Gardere Wynne Sewell by a NYSE publicly-traded client based in Houston to become its Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer.  During his twenty-three (23) year career at the company, he served five Chief Executive Officers.  He was responsible for the Legal department as well as the Risk, Compliance, Environmental, and Aviation departments.

Todd splits his time between Houston and Galveston.

• $255.8 million acquisition of CENTRIA, a leader in the design, engineering and manufacturing of architectural insulated metal panels, wall and roof systems and a provider of integrated coil coating services for the nonresidential construction industry (2015)

• $145,700,000 acquisition of Metl-Span LLC, (“Metl-Span”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of VSMA, and BlueScope Steel North America Corporation (2012)

• $250.0MM PIPE investment by funds managed by Clayton, Dubilier & Rice into NCI Building Systems (2009)

• $14.5MM purchase of substantially all the operating assets of Garco Building Systems, Inc., a regional metal building manufacturer located in Spokane, Washington (2007)

• $367MM multiple-survivor merger with Robertson Ceco to acquire Star Building Systems, Ceco Building System Robertson Building Systems, with offices and manufacturing facilities located throughout the US and Canada (2006)

• $27.5MM purchase of substantially all of the operating assets of Heritage Buildings and SteelBuildings.com (2004)

• $3.6MM purchase of substantially all the operating assets of a commercial and residential door manufacturer pursuant to an asset purchase agreement (2003)

• $26.2MM purchase of outstanding joint venture interest of metal coil coating business (2000)
